Why we designed it this way
This journey is designed as a progression through ecosystems and civilizations, not a race across three countries.
Lower-altitude pauses, lighter arrival days and two Uyuni outings give the body and the weather room to shape the experience safely.
It is for experienced travelers in their 50s, 60s and beyond who value archaeology, ecology and cultural interpretation—and accept that remote journeys require flexibility.
Who this trip is for
Experienced long-haul travelers who want archaeology, rainforest, high-altitude landscapes and remote island culture in one journey—and value smart routing over checking off countries quickly.

Trip FAQ
How challenging is the altitude?+
This journey reaches significant altitude in the Andes and around Uyuni. The route uses staged pacing and lighter arrival days, but travelers should review health concerns with their physician and understand that fitness alone does not prevent altitude illness.
Is Uyuni’s mirror effect guaranteed?+
No. Reflections depend on water depth, wind, light, access and daily weather. The working route allows two shorter private outings to improve flexibility, but nature cannot be promised.
What is the Amazon portion like?+
The Amazon chapter is based around a rainforest lodge with river, forest, wildlife and community experiences. Activities and guiding depend on the selected lodge, water conditions and weather.
Why spend 22 days on this route?+
The journey connects remote regions with limited air links. Twenty-two days allows the cultural sequence, altitude adjustment, weather flexibility and flight buffers to work without turning every day into a transfer.
How much time is planned for Rapa Nui?+
The working design uses three nights and two full cultural days so the Moai, ceremonial sites, volcanic landscapes and Polynesian story are not compressed into a single rushed excursion.
What visas, vaccines and insurance may be needed?+
Requirements depend on passport, routing and current health guidance, especially for Bolivia and the Amazon. We review the latest entry considerations before booking, while travelers arrange appropriate medical advice, emergency coverage and travel insurance.
Good to know High altitude, rain-season conditions and remote flights require flexibility. Salt-flat reflections can never be guaranteed, and the final route should include appropriate medical and travel-insurance planning.
